Head of International Acquisitions and Co-Productions Studiocanal

Jonas Bauer started working for ProSieben in 1995 and soon thereafter joined the Kirch Group as assistant to Jan Mojto with a focus on English language coproductions. In 1999 he joined the DeAngelisGroup in Rome, as Head of International Production he was responsible for the development, financing, production and distribution of a dozen projects including the miniseries “Julius Caesar” for TNT and ARD and “The Magnificent Ambersons” for A&E Network. In 2004 Jonas joined Tandem Communications in Munich and later became a partner in the company in 2007. He played a key role in securing the international rights for Ridely Scott’s miniseries “The Company” (TNT) as well as for the miniseries “The Hades Factor” (NBC) and “Impact” (ABC). Prior to the entry of Studiocanal as a shareholder in Tandem, Jonas was also in charge of Tandem’s distribution in Italy and Spain. With the entry of Studiocanal as a shareholder in 2011, Jonas took on the responsibility of securing international distribution rights for the Studiocanal distribution arm as Head of International Acquisitions and Coproductions. In parallel he continued to develop, finance and produce movies and series as one of Tandem’s Executive Producers, including the series “Spotless” (Canal+) in 2014. Jonas holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD, Fontainebleau and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and literature from Princeton University. He speaks four languages fluently.
