Co-Production Market & Pitching Forum

MIA|Film Co-Production Market & Pitching Forum 2020

This year the MIA|Film section is pleased to present to the international film industry 16 feature-film projects coming from 14 countries. They have been evaluated and chosen by the selection committe made up of Paola Malanga (Deputy Director, production and acquisitions division – Rai Cinema, Italy), Joseph Rouschop (Producer and founder of Tarantula, Belgium) and Katarzyna Siniarska (Head of Sales – New Europe Film Sales, Poland).
For the 2020 edition, MIA|Film Co-Production Market confirms its international vocation and strenghtens its support to emerging and established film-makers coming from all over the world through an accurate networking and scouting activity.
50% of selected projects come from female film-makers and half of the titles are developed by first-time or second-time directors.

Wanting to offer a further and targeted business and visibility opportunity to the Italian industry and talents, apart from the international selection of the co-production market, this year MIA|Film presents Wanna Taste IT?, a new section exclusively devoted to Italian film projects in development which can be part of an international landscape and look at co-production opportunities, but from a structural and writing point of view are not as advanced as those elegible for the MIA|Film Co-Production Market.
Wanna Taste IT? intends to be a launchpad and a propeller for the selected projects, offering producers and directors concrete opportunities not only in terms of pure business (thanks to targeted, guided networking with potential co-producers, sales agents, financiers) but also in terms of high-level training, providing feedback and counseling from international experts, representatives of Institutions, Funds, support and training programmes, other market/festival platforms.

The MIA|Film Coproduction Market is honored to present once again in 2020 the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award: an International Jury will assign the Award, a cash prize of 20.000 Euros for the development of the best feature film project showcased that fulfills the criteria for collaboration and co-production that inspire Eurimages.

This year we are also proud to present the ARTE Kino International Prize, a cash award of 6.000 Euros given to the best project to support its development. With this award, ARTE hopes to contribute to the development and production of independent filmmaking.
