Matilde Bernabei is Chairwoman of Lux Vide S.p.A., one of the leading TV production companies in Europe and a major player in international co-production partnerships with every significant U.S. and European broadcaster. For Lux Vide, she has produced television series and miniseries like: “Lui e Lei” – “Fatima” – “Augustus” – “Mother Teresa” – “Soraya” – “Rita da Cascia” – “Nero” – “Don Bosco” – 6 seasons of “Don Matteo” – “Edda” – “Meucci” – “St. Peter” – “Callas Onassis” – John Paul II” – “War and Peace”.
Matilde Bernabei is extremely experienced in management. After working as a journalist for the weekly magazine “Panorama”, at only 24 she was nominated secretary of Asip, an association working on technical cooperation projects with the developing countries. In 1980, she joined the Montedison Group and was in charge of the job creation program for the industrial settlements in the South of Italy. In 1984, she was appointed strategy and development manager for the newly born Iniziativa Me.Ta., a holding company of the
Montedison Group for the service sector and pole of diversification. Within three years, Iniziativa Me.Ta. became the third major holding company in Italy operating in the large-scale retail trade (Standa, Euromercato), financial products (Sefimeta), insurance sector (La Fondiaria), publishing sector (Rizzoli-
Corsera), and telematics (Datamond), with a market capitalization of three thousand billions lire. In 1987 she assumed operating responsibility for “Il Messaggero” Publishing Group as managing director.
