Head of Italian Scripted Originals | Amazon Studios
After working at the main European film markets (Rome, Venice, Cannes), in 2011, he moved to film distribution and business affairs and founded with a group of professionals a movie theatre in Rome (“il Kino”), which quickly became a point of reference for the Italian film industry. The following year, he set up the first channel for independent European films on Cubovision, Telecom Italia’s VoD service. After a short period in France working as a Buyer for a TV company, he served in the Business Affairs team at the BFI in London, working on several projects including a partnership with the Chinese platform iQiyi, for the distribution of European cinema in China.
After consulting both for film and TV (TCB Media Rights, Curzon Artificial Eye, MIA-International Audiovisual Market of Rome), in 2015, he joined Palomar as Acquisition and Sales Consultant, setting up the international strategy of the company and, two years later, was appointed to International Affairs. While in that role, he supervised all of Palomar’s International Productions, from development to exploitation, including films such as La paranza dei bambini (Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the 2019 Berlinale), the 2019 TV series The Name of the Rose – based on Umberto Eco’s best-selling novel – and Giorgio Diritti’s Hidden Away (Film of the Year at the 2020 Nastri d’Argento and Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlinale).
He joined Amazon Studios in April 2020 as Head of Italian Scripted Originals.
