Head of Production – Kimera Film
Simone Isola (b. 1982 in Italy) holds a BA and MA History, Music and Performing Arts, an MA Journalism and Communication, a PhD Film from the University of Tor Vergata (Rome) and finally a Film Production diploma from CSC – The Italian National Film Academy. Along with teaching Film Production at Sapienza – University of Rome, he is one of the founders of Kimerafilm where he is currently in charge as the Head of Production. Among their works, we can list “Non Essere Cattivo – Don’t Be Bad” by Claudio Caligari, which was included as one of the Italian nominees for the 2016 Academy Awards, “My Class” by Daniele Gaglianone and the documentaries “Bertolucci on Bertolucci” by Luca Guadagnino; “L’ame du Guepard” by Annarita Zambrano. As an experienced documentary filmmaker, his docu-film “Alfredo Bini – Unexpected Guest” on the life of Pasolini’s producer was presented at the 2015 Venice Film Festival, later winning the 2016 Silver Ribbon for best Documentary about Cinema. “Tainted Souls” is the last feature produced by Simone Isola, presented at the 74nd Venice Film Festival and distribuited by Notoriuous Pictures and True Colours. He is currently producing the first movie of Valerio Mastandrea, “Laughing”. He is also an active member of the European Film Academy.
